ABOUT

I am the granddaughter of a coal miner, a retired U.S. Navy engineer, a scientist, a technology entrepreneur. I am also a mother, grandmother and wife.  All of these experiences have shaped my life and made me understand that the next chapter of my life should be in public service.

I have been married to my husband, Christos, for 36 years.  We have raised three children, all graduates of New Mexico’s public-school system, who have gone on to achieve academic and professional success (the youngest is graduated college in May).

Making a Pitch

After retiring from the Navy and household CEO, I began working in the private sector.  I worked in a variety of jobs, including retail and hospitality.  I then decided to use my scientific skills, and my newfound entrepreneurial skills, to found CSolPower, a company that solves the issue of renewable energy intermittency.

I also created Udorami, an online and Google Play app to help you organize your real life in the digital space, and Solargetic Designs, a consulting company focused on solar and sustainability education and implementation.

As a volunteer, I have been on the board and  am past president of the New Mexico Solar Energy Association.  I have been advocating for clean energy at the last three New Mexico Legislative sessions.  Read some of my blogs here. It comes as no surprise that Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has already endorsed my campaign.

Community is important to me.  That is why I ran for Albuquerque City Council last year.  And my faith is important to me. I am a member of the Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church and the St. George Greek Orthodox Church here in Albuquerque.

Education is important to me.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a Master’s degree in environmental engineering and a Professional Science Master’s degree from UNM.

When my oldest child was in the 3rd grade, we discovered that his class was not learning mathematics.  Organizing other parent volunteers, we established the Math Superstars program, which expanded to include all grades in his school for his 4th and 5th grades.

I’ve been a parent, teacher, and student. Send me to Santa Fe. We need a smarter New Mexico.

My values and the Democratic platform are simple but important: Equality, Integrity, and Unity.

As YOUR senator I will:

  • Evaluate issues based on evidence and science
  • Value people, the planet, and economic growth for all
  • Work for a smarter, safer, and stronger New Mexico

I will be YOUR District 21 Senator.  I will work for you.  I will not be any political party’s Senator;  I will not be the special interests’ Senator.

I will work locally but think globally.

Together, we can make the long lasting change we want to see in this state.

Your kind words will send me to Santa Fe!
